Yes, your mouth is going to be sore after getting braces placed. Your mouth will also be sore every time you go to the orthodontist to have them tightened, which is usually once a month. An hour or so before every orthodontist visit, take 800 mg of Ibuprophen which will help with the discomfort. Take it again about 8 hours after seeing the dentist. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

having braces put on doesn't really hurt. it's the tightening of the braces that hurt like a )#$*#&(*$(. lol ummmm.. .like... does getting a tatoo hurt?
they hurt more than stabbing a pencil in your eye
the first night it will. but after that no.
they glue pieces of metal onto your teeth, connect it by a wire, then it slowly pulls teeth straight. depends on your mouth's sensitivity. it didnt hurt for me
Well getting them on you doesn't but having them does. Not always though. Everytime you get them tightened espically at first it hurts to bit down on anything. Also if they're pushing your teeth closer together extra wire will poke out in back and poke your gums. Other then that it's not really bad.
well it hurts if you tell yourself it will. what hurts is the couple days after you get them on. dont eat anything hard and cut up sandwiches and stuff like that. so dont worry about getting them on its not that bad
When I first got braces they just felt extremely weird. My gums were sore for about a week and I wansn't able to eat any solid food. For me, getting them on and taking them off didn't hurt. The only painful part was the metal scraping my inner cheek and sore gums part, but it's really all worth it in the end.
i hope not i'm getting braces soon too!
it doesnt hurt at all just the tightening part
i have braces right now. it hurts for the first 3-5 days after the braces are in place . you will also experience difficulty in eating especially chewing meat. after that it will be ok except for the every-month adjustment of the wires...which will hurt again. but if you will get use to it...you can eat like when you have no braces...try to psyche yourself...it will help...:-D
Having the braces put on doesn't exactly hurt. However, if you're getting a few teeth removed before you get the braces that is a bit painful. Also, once in a month or so you may have to get your braces rewired or tightened. That hurts quite a bit for a day or so. It's like a sore feeling and it becomes difficult to eat. Don't worry, though, I'm sure there won't be too much pain. And my dentist-surprisingly- told my mom that the best way to ease any gum or mouth pain after getting my braces tightened would be to eat lots of ice-cream! It really helped.
i assume you mean braces on your teeth. i had them when i was 12 and tecnically they dont hurt theyre just a bit uncomfortable until you get used to them and it does hurt a bit to get them tightened when they come off your teeth will be pretty and straight
The actual braces being applied does not hurt, though as mentioned, it does mess with your gums and lips getting used to all that metal. Every month you will get an adjustment. Your mouth will be sore for a day or two. Be sure to take a Tylenol or something similar before you go and it really helps. I have also found it hurts more if you are an adult since your mouth is formed & has been misshapen longer. The bones are harder, and harder to move
