Brushing 2 to 3 times a day is excellent, as long as your brushing correctly. Brush sides of teeth, top of teeth and gently on the gum line for at least two minutes. Brush your tongue and floss at least once a day. Listerine is a good but very strong product, use it sparingly. Continue to see your dentist for treatment, and I promise the health of your teeth and gums will get better.

It seems like you're doing everything possible to maintain a good hygiene. The best advice I can offer is to consult your dentist and tell him what your problem is. Also, remember to go to the dentist every 6 months for a cleaning.
Thats up to you. If you keep taking care of your teeth and get fillings and whatever work is needed to fix your teeth, you have a good chance of avoiding your dads problem.
