Why do we get wisdom teeth if they only need to come out?
I personaly dont think they do but my denist does. is he just after more money or are there real benifits of having them removed? I had both my top ones out due to toothaches and now he wants to remove my bottom to. the problem is they are in a position that requires surgery under anesthetic. $600 each. should i get them out to?

They don't always have to come out, believe it or not, but if your dentist told you to have them out, check this out. Why remove a wisdom tooth? http://www.members.aol.com/swf08302/wizd... shows one reason. This is what can happen by the time you are 40 or 50 if you leave a wisdom tooth in place when it is impacted. The red arrows on the x-ray show the grey area that has decayed due to the wisdom tooth being present under the gum. The tooth shown is the exact same tooth shown in the x-ray, but turned so you can see the cavity. Food and bacteria can get down there and you can't clean it out. Eventually, it makes a cavity in the tooth next to the wisdom tooth and makes it so you have to have BOTH teeth removed.

yes because the tops are out and the bottoms have nothing to bite against and will become impacted and hurt like hell. comes from experience
for the same reason you get baby teeth
$600 each??? I'm sorry :( all 4 of mine, being done at once, will cost $799 and I'm going under as well. you do need to get them out. my dentist told me that if I got only the bottom ones out, then the top ones would be useless. so yes, you need to get them removed.
I was just wondering that today too! Mine are just growing in and it SUCKS! lol Um really it depends if your mouth is big enough. I mean that's the main reason they pull them! I don't really see the point in having them! But really they only pull them if your mouths too small!
